Cardi B will no longer headline the BZR WKND show at Kingston’s National Stadium on Sunday 18 October, her representatives have confirmed to Billboard.

The announcement on Thursday 8 October removes the US rapper from the event’s main attraction ten days before her scheduled appearance. Her team gave no reason for the withdrawal and said questions about tickets and the wider festival should go to the organisers.

The booking that built the buzz

Nationwide 90FM’s original August report placed Cardi and Friends at the centre of a Heroes Weekend programme running from 16 to 19 October. It described a welcome party, a beach event and a farewell celebration alongside the stadium concert.

The Jamaica Information Service also covered the August launch, when officials promoted the weekend as a major draw for visitors. That earlier promotion explains the attention around the booking; its attendance projections are not a verified count of tickets sold.

Other announced names included Keyshia Cole, with Spice named as host, and Jamaican performers including Ding Dong, Malie Donn and Shaneil Muir, according to The Gleaner. Their inclusion in earlier publicity does not confirm an amended programme after Cardi’s withdrawal.

Fans want answers on their tickets

In its 8 October report on reactions beneath its own Instagram post, World Music Views said commenters were asking the festival account about refunds. It quoted @cry_cry876 saying, “I need my money back”, while @jessjjxn asked how refunds would work.

The same report described a suggestion from @mr___reid that Jamaican performers should be given the headline opportunity. These are individual reactions recorded by the outlet, rather than a poll of Jamaican fans or proof that each commenter bought a ticket.

World Music Views reported that promoters had no statement at the time it contacted them. Billboard’s account likewise said organisers had not responded to its request for comment at publication. Neither report establishes that the entire weekend has been cancelled.

What remains unconfirmed

The reason Cardi will not appear, any replacement headliner and arrangements for ticket holders remain unresolved in the reports reviewed for this story. Online guesses about the booking are not an official explanation.

Her representatives said future performance announcements would come through Cardi’s official channels. Ticket holders should look for a dated organiser update that addresses their particular event and purchase.
