About JAM Radio News

JAM Radio News is an independent UK radio station and digital publication. We share news, analysis, culture and music for audiences in the UK, the Caribbean and beyond.

Who we are

We cover the stories that matter to Black British communities and to Caribbean audiences around the world. Our music reaches from reggae and soca to afrobeats and more. We are run by people who work in radio, so we come to the news with a listener's ear for voices and communities that often go unheard.

JAM Radio News is published by JAM Radio. Our Chief Editor is Euen Herbert-Small.

What we publish

We publish news, features, analysis and culture coverage. We pay close attention to stories that matter to Caribbean communities in the UK, to the Caribbean itself and to the connections between them. We also cover the wider world, because those communities do not live in a bubble.

We aim to publish useful, accurate and clearly presented reporting. We tell news apart from opinion, commentary, advertising and sponsored material, and we try to give context and avoid misleading headlines. When important facts change, we update our stories.

You can also listen in the JamRadio app for Android, which can send you news alerts if you choose to turn them on. How our stories are made

Every story is reviewed and approved by a named editor before it goes live. We aim to be source-led, which means that where we can, we link to the documents, statements and reports a story is based on so you can check for yourself. Our full approach is set out in our editorial standards.

When we get something wrong, we say so. Our corrections page explains how to tell us and what we do next.

Who owns and funds us

JAM Radio is independently owned and is not part of a larger media group. It is funded by advertising, sponsorship and affiliate links, none of which decides what we report. We may add other sources of funding in the future. If that changes, we will tell you here.

Advertising and sponsored content on the site is clearly labelled, and it is kept separate from our reporting. Advertisers, sponsors and affiliate partners do not decide what we cover. The adverts are image and video adverts that we serve ourselves. We count how many times they are shown and clicked, as totals only, without tracking individual readers. You can read more in our privacy policy.
