The legal dispute between rapper Megan Thee Stallion and her former cameraman Emilio Garcia has taken a notable step forward, as a federal judge allows key claims of discrimination and retaliation to proceed. The case stems from events during Megan's 2022 European tour, with Garcia alleging misconduct and unfair treatment that compromised his professional standing.

According to Garcia, he was confined inside a moving SUV during a stop in Ibiza, while Megan Thee Stallion allegedly engaged in sexual activity with another woman beside him. Garcia claims the incident contributed to a hostile work environment due to his sexual orientation. The presiding judge noted that Garcia had adequately pleaded the discriminatory nature of the encounter, suggesting that Megan's actions may have been influenced by his identity.

Following the incident, Garcia asserts he was instructed not to speak about what he witnessed, and subsequently subjected to derogatory comments, a reduction in pay, loss of bookings, and eventual termination from Megan’s entourage. He further alleges that he was blacklisted across the entertainment industry, undermining future career prospects.

While certain claims—including those based in California and related to wage disputes—have been dismissed, Garcia’s central federal allegations remain intact. His legal representatives have indicated intentions to amend the complaint using additional information obtained through depositions.

Alex Spiro, Megan’s attorney, has branded the lawsuit a “shameless money grab,” denying any claims of harassment. Roc Nation, her management company, has yet to comment, prompting criticism over its silence.
The case has intensified scrutiny of both Megan and Roc Nation, with mounting concerns about workplace ethics and the treatment of crew members within high-profile entertainment circles.
