Three British teenagers arrested in Marbella are alleged to have been preparing an attack or a robbery targeting another group’s drugs, according to fresh reporting on a Spanish police operation announced last month.
The latest account, reported by The Spanish Eye on 14 October and attributed to Spanish newspaper ABC, says two suspects were 17 and the third was 18. The alleged plan has not been established by a conviction.
Spain’s Interior Ministry announced the arrests on 21 September 2026. Its statement confirmed that three people, including two minors, had been detained in an investigation into suspected synthetic drug trafficking, with officers recovering five semi-automatic pistols, machetes and disguises.
Investigation began with a stolen car
According to the ministry, the inquiry began in July after officers found a vehicle in Marbella that had been stolen in Portugal and was carrying cloned Swedish registration plates.
Police said weapons, clown masks and silicone masks resembling human faces were found inside. Investigators believed the car was being used to hide items and went on to identify suspects.
Two homes were searched. The ministry reported the seizure of ketamine, MDMA, ecstasy tablets and a substance it described as 2CB or “tusi”, alongside cash in euros, pounds and US dollars.
Two minors detained separately
The official statement said the adult suspect was remanded in custody and the two minors were placed in a juvenile detention centre after appearing before the relevant judicial authorities. SUR in English subsequently reported that all three were British.
The newer claims about a planned drug robbery go beyond the details set out in the September ministry release. They remain attributed allegations, and the suspects’ detention does not establish guilt.
