17-year-old David Wynter named as victim of fatal Wembley stabbing

The Metropolitan Police has named 17-year-old David Wynter as the teenager who died following a fatal stabbing at Brent Civic Centre in Wembley.

Police were called to Engineers Way at around 2:30pm on Tuesday, 25 August, following reports of a stabbing. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found David suffering from stab wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police initially said the victim was believed to be a teenager and launched a murder investigation. His identity has since been released, with his next of kin informed and being supported by specially trained officers.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder on the day of the incident. Police have now confirmed that he was charged with murder on Thursday, 27 August. He appeared at Willesden Magistrates' Court and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 28 August.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police are appealing for anyone who has information about the incident to contact 101, quoting reference 4032/25AUG. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers.

The Met has said there is no indication of a wider risk to the community arising from the incident.
