Trafalgar Square, London — In scenes described by witnesses as “Kafkaesque,” police have arrested a blind man using a mobility cane and a pensioner accompanied by his dog at today’s Palestine Action protest in Trafalgar Square. Both were detained under the Terrorism Act, as the UK government’s proscription of Palestine Action continues to trigger mass arrests across the capital.

The blind man was reportedly holding a sign that read:

“I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.”
He was escorted away by officers despite visibly relying on a cane and offering no resistance.

Separately, an elderly man and his dog were arrested near the National Gallery, prompting outrage online and sparking the hashtag #FreeTheDog. Footage shows the dog being led away by officers as protesters chant “Shame on you!”

The arrests come amid what organizers are calling “the largest act of civil disobedience in modern British history,” with over 1,500 people reportedly facing detention. Among those arrested earlier today were two disabled protesters in motorized wheelchairs and an 83-year-old vicar—her third arrest in connection with Palestine Action demonstrations.

Critics say the arrests reflect a state in panic, criminalizing peaceful dissent and targeting vulnerable citizens to send a message. Legal observers warn that the Terrorism Act is being stretched beyond recognition, with signage and silence now treated as threats.

JamRadio will continue documenting the crackdown, the resistance, and the stories the mainstream won’t touch. As one protester put it:

“If they’re arresting blind men and dogs, they’ve already lost the moral argument.”
