Burkina Faso Now Earns £13 Billion Anually After Traoré Ends Western Exploitation and Secures Gold Wealth

By | Esheru Kweku

Burkina Faso has shattered the cycle of Western exploitation and reclaimed its gold mineral wealth under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, marking a turning point in African sovereignty. Previously, foreign mining companies extracted the country’s gold while paying Burkina Faso a mere one billion per year. Since Traoré assumed power in 2022, the nation now earns over eighteen billion dollars (£13 billion) annually, an eighteen-fold increase that exposes the long-standing plundering of African resources.

France holds the world fourth-largest gold reserves throught its exploitation of West Africa

France has the forth-largest gold reserves in the world and has acheived this through its colonial and neo-colonial grip on West Africa, ensuring that former colonies remain economically dependent and subservient to its colonial-style rule. Burkina Faso was no exception, until Traoré rose to power, severed ties, expelled French troops, and took control of the country’s mining sector ending a vicious cycle of exploitation and underdevelopment.

Macron’s government has vilified Traoré, portraying him as reckless while Western media outlets push narratives designed to undermine his leadership. However, the numbers speak for themselves, Burkina Faso is prospering, proving that African nations can thrive without foreign interference.

The newfound wealth is being channelled into national development, with major investments in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and technology. Roads are being built, education is expanding, and the country has reportedly cleared its international debts, making Burkina Faso debt-free.

This transformation sends a powerful message to other African nations that sovereignty is achievable. Western economic dominance is weakening, and leaders like Traoré are proving that Africa can stand on its own. As Burkina Faso continues to rise, external forces will undoubtedly attempt to regain control using economic pressure, propaganda, and political manoeuvring. However, the people of Burkina Faso stand behind their leader, determined to forge a future free from foreign control.
