Sangita Myska Returns to the Mic With Gaza at the Centre of Her First Zeteo Show

Former LBC presenter Sangita Myska is back — and her first major interview on Zeteo UK goes straight to the issue that came to define the final, turbulent chapter of her time on British radio: Gaza.

Myska has launched Sangita Meets…, a new video podcast for Zeteo UK, with actor and presenter Nadia Sawalha as her first guest. It is a striking choice: two women whose decisions to speak plainly about Palestine, Israel’s war on Gaza and the human cost of silence have carried serious professional consequences.

The premiere is not a soft-launch celebrity chat. It is a conversation about power, fear, censorship and the price paid by public figures who refuse to whisper when they believe an atrocity is being carried out in full public view.

Sawalha, best known for her long-standing role on ITV’s Loose Women, tells Myska that people were “whispering” about an atrocity which the world could see unfolding live. She discusses being taken off air after she became outspoken in support of Palestine, and the apparent expectation that public figures should make themselves smaller, quieter and more convenient when the subject is Gaza.

It is a subject Myska knows all too well.

Her exit from LBC followed a widely shared live interview in which she pressed Israeli government spokesperson Avi Hyman over Israel’s actions in Gaza. LBC did not publicly say that the interview was the reason for her departure. But Myska has since said that she was told she would no longer be on air within 48 hours of challenging him.

That episode turned Myska into a symbol of a far wider concern: whether British broadcasters can speak honestly about Gaza without being managed, monitored or pushed aside.

For nearly two years, Gaza has exposed a deep unease within parts of the British media. The language itself has become contested territory. Terms such as “genocide”, “occupation”, “apartheid” and even “Palestine” have often brought a level of professional risk not applied to other foreign-policy debates.

Meanwhile, journalists, artists and broadcasters who have challenged the framing of Israel’s assault on Gaza have frequently faced complaints, online abuse, reputational attacks and pressure from their employers. That does not make every criticism beyond challenge. But it does raise a serious question: why does speaking frankly about Palestinian lives so often appear to come with a special penalty?

Zeteo UK appears to be giving Myska space to ask that question without shrinking from it.

Sangita Meets… promises long-form conversations rather than tightly controlled exchanges designed to fit around ad breaks and avoid discomfort. Its first episode makes clear that Myska is not returning to the microphone to pretend the last two years never happened.

Instead, she is returning with a platform built around the conversations that much of the mainstream media has struggled to hold openly.

There is a certain symmetry in that. The presenter whose robust questioning of an Israeli government spokesperson became a national story is now hosting a programme where people affected by the politics of silence can speak in full.

This is more than a podcast launch. It is the return of a journalist who became part of the story because she would not look away from Gaza — and would not stop asking difficult questions about it.
